Instructions for use

Passive hand tools are generally not classified as ATEX equipment under Directive 2014/34/EU and are therefore not ATEX-certified in the same way as electrical or powered tools. The key factor here is selecting the appropriate material for the specific hazardous area. Low-spark tools made of copper-beryllium, titanium-copper or aluminium-copper are frequently used. However, the suitable material combination depends on the specific application, the explosive substances present and the operational risk assessment.

Use in potentially explosive atmospheres is subject to the operator’s risk assessment in accordance with Directive 1999/92/EC.
