What does this mean for manufacturers?
In future, manufacturers of devices for Ex zones will also be able to have their products certified by ConformEx - for example for categories 1 and 2 in gas (zone 0, 1) or dust atmospheres (zone 20, 21). The company tests, among other things:
- Explosion protection according to EN/IEC 60079
- Protection types such as flameproof (Ex d), increased safety (Ex e) or ignition protection by enclosure (Ex t)
- Device combinations, ignition source avoidance, protection concepts
The accreditation covers both the ATEX Directive (2014/34/EU) and quality assurance certificates in accordance with Annex IV and VII.
Relevance for the market
With ConformEx's entry, the network of test centers in Europe is becoming denser. This is an important development for the industry, especially in times of growing certification requirements - for example due to new technologies or stricter design standards (e.g. Ed. 7 of IEC 60079-11).

Tip: Manufacturers currently planning certification processes or needing to renew existing ATEX approvals can now also consider ConformEx as a viable option. Important: Not every notified body offers all testing areas – a comparison is worthwhile.
